Thankful

Today, being at home, sick, I can’t help but feel thankful. Even while I’m sick. Especially because I’m sick. I’m not sure if this thankfulness is because it was our 7th wedding anniversary yesterday, or because I see all of our American friends getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving. But, I am thankful.

I’m thankful for the seven years of marriage Jason and I celebrated yesterday. I’m thankful for all the ups and downs, good times, bad times…all the adventures we have faced together. I’m thankful for a husband who puts up with all my crazy quirks, and loves me still.

I’m thankful for the little boy who calls me Mommy. I’m thankful that God chose me to be his mom, and Jason to be his dad. I’m thankful every time he smiles, every time he laughs that deep-gut laugh I adore, every time he runs up to me and gives me a hug and says “aaaah, love you mommy!”

I’m thankful to have a job that I love. A job where I still get to see my son during the day, and my husband is right upstairs. I’m thankful for the wonderful team of ladies I work with. I’m thankful that I get to work with my sister, and Noah gets to go to school with his cousins.

I’m thankful for the home that we live in, the car we have to get us around, access to medical care, and two salaries every month.

I’m thankful for family, far and wide. No matter the distance between us, I’m thankful for each family member we have. I’m thankful for the love and support each family member shows my little family.

I’m thankful for the friends we have. Those we see regularly, and those we don’t. Old friends and new friends. Each of you have a special place in my heart. I’m thankful for each of you!

I’m thankful for this time of year, the festive season, and all it represents. I’m thankful for the opportunity to be able to freely celebrate Jesus’ birth, and what it means for you and I.

I’m thankful for this crazy beautiful life, and all the unknown, scary exciting adventures it holds for me and my little family.

Today, I am thankful.

What are you thankful for today?
